How great is this calling
Dear Pamily,
Moses Lake is having crazy storms! I hope that everyone is well. The Philippines have typhoons as well. My area has heavy ulan right now. My area wont get too crazy, just up in Manila. I am very blessed.
My kasama left! She is done with her mission and is going home to Salmar. I am so grateful to learn from her! I am here in Los Banos for the week! I am working with Sister Asunction, the sister training leader! She is amazing and I feel the spirit so strongly. We had a lesson with Sister Agdon. She is so close to being prepared for binyag! She reads, prays and has an open heart. She just needs to ask if it is true. The specifics about the propeta and Aklat. I am going to focus on her this week. I really think she could be baptised by next transfer! She is 37 and has the cutest laugh I have ever heard.
My area will be recieving 2 more sisters! 4 sisters in my area! YAH! So I will recieve a new trainer, Because I am still training, and then I will be givin the oportunity to lead the area. Wow. I am grateful that the President trusts me to lead this area here. There is much work to do. I know the area pretty well and we are working on the ward mission plan with the ward, so things are rolling.
Sister Marino and I were punted (Told us to come back another day, were sick, or not home) 5 times in a row on thursday!! Then I thought that we should go visit one of our investigators that we havent seen all week. On the way we OYMed a couple sitting on the bench of their little sidewalk shop. We taught the 1st lesson there and taught on the sidewalk with the busy traffic behind us. I love praying in the open so that everyone can see, its my favorite :) After we taught the lesson, she said, i want you to share this message with my whole family! So exciting! I am so excited to teach her family!
Then on tuesday we were also punted about 3 times...when it rains everyone takes naps, so we told one of our LA familys daughters we would come back later. ABout an hour later, we came back and her neightbors were waiting outside there door. They said, We saw you two outside. And heard you say that you would come back later. We wanted to hear what you had to say, I wanted you two to come into my home. So we taught the restoration. I am amazed how the sprit works. The Holy Ghost told them and prompted them to wait outside for us and gave them the desire to speak with us. I am exctied to teach them too!
It is so hard to find those who are ready and softened to hear the message of the Restored church. I love this gospel. Everything fits together like puzzel pieces. We found Sister Edith the other day. She is searching for the truth and is listening to other churches. We taught her the Restoration and the spirit was so strong. As i recited the first vision, the spirit pierced her heart. I could feel it. It testified to her the truth of what really did happen. She said she will be baptized if she recieves a witness through the Holy Ghost. I know she will because that is a promise from God if she does her part. I trust in God. This is His gospel.
I sure do love this calling. I love being a Missionary for the restored church on the earth. I am so grateful to be a messenger of this beautiful calling. I know that this is the only way to return back to our Heavenly Father. I love studying. I become an investigaor of the Lord when I study. I learn so much every day :)

Pamilya!
Time is starting to go by faster which is nice. It feels like my training is taking forever! We had a training check up this week in San Pablo! I got to see all the missionaries from my batch at the MTC! I was so happy to see my old kasama! I missed Sister Burnham so much! We didnt have work that much this week either. We only had about 2-3 days of teaching. We had a zone meeting in cabuyoa again. Los Banos is traffic central so it takes forever to travel on the jeepneys. Also, saturday we went to San Pablo again for my trainer to visit the members there. She is leaving next week! So I am blessed to have 2 nanay's train me as a new missionary. I am not sure if I will have a pday next week...Just a heads up if you dont get an email, I'm not dead yet :) I might be in San Pablo the whole week again. My kasama will have a leaving training? mon-thursday...i really hope I can stay here, dahil, we have so many mga tao to magturo!
We finally had a ward council meeting this week! It feels nice to be on the same page as our auxiliary leaders. We are going to have a ward family home evening on missionary work. And we will be giving a huge church tour where members can bring their friends. It will be a great way to get bago investigators! We found 8 new investigators this week and have 12 inves. on date for baptism.
Every single day I am building my pananampalataya (faith) ni Cristo. I depend on Him with my life here. This is His work. I am trying my best to do it his way. Thomas S Monson said, "wishing will not make it so. The Lord expects our thinking. He expects our action. He expects our labors. He expects our testimonies. He expects our devotion". There is so much work to accomplish. I have to have pananampalatay araw araw that I will accomplish it.
We had 2 very less active families come to church this week! YAH! I was so happy to see them! Also, we had one investigator come, Brother Kim! he is dating a member, Barbie. He told us he wanted to be baptized. Now we just have to teach him the doctrine! I love teaching the 1st lesson on the restoration. It is my favorite. My testimony grows each time I share it! And now I can recite the 1st vision in Tagalog! Yea!
Everyone here laughs at my rain jaket...apparently they dont wear them. They always ask me, What country are you from? haha. We visit Sister Vergie and their family who are less active. She always calls me Sister Red. And when I wear different colors she calls me Sister Blue, Sister Yellow chuka black chuka pink. Haha its cute.
Also! I rode on a trolley this week! It is on the train tracks and people push you down it! Crazy!
Oh also I went to a pineapple farm! It was behind a members house in San Pablo!! It was the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life!!
I read this scrip the other day and loved it!!! DandC 138:56
We were prepared in heaven to come to this earth and become missionaries! We were taught the 1st lessons in heaven! Ang panunumbalik? Restoration? Missionary work didn't start here on earth, nor will it end her on earth!
Mahal Kita! May the work of the Lord continue to go forth to all the nations!

Pamilya!
Wow...what a week! I have too much to say in so little time. I cant believe that the Philippine flooding made church news! That is awesome! My area is okay. I always get a bad feeling inside when it rains, i think our our investigators houses. The rain is so hard and will break their homes. Pero, the Lord protects us.
I forgot to tell you about a funny experience last week. We had zone meeting in Cabuyoa. Some how i always find myself getting in trouble with the authorities. Haha. So, my zone leader gave me a hammer and a screw driver. Apparently it is one of our members here in Los Banos. So I put it in my bag. After our meetings we always go out to eat together in the mall. So they have security at each of the doors. She looks in my bag and pulls out the hammer. Haha..that doesnt look very good...They dont know what to do with me, so they call up the head of security. This probably looks bad, having the missionaries talking with security. They said they would have to confiscate it and they would have to take me to the office. Thankfully my district leader helped me, i had no idea what they were saying...He told them what happened, they took my license and told us we would have to take the fire exit to leave after we ate. It was so funny.
This week my kasama and I got 60 OYMS!! So close to our goal! We have the goal to find the lost sheep here in Los banos. I am determined to find them. And we had a competition with our district leader. Whoever got the most oyms had to buy the other ice cream...I don't like to lose so that gave me alot of motivation. :) I have been wanting to try the purple ice cream here! Our member help us and give up a whole day to help with missionary work. They have such a love for bringing others unto Christ. Except our ward dosent have a lot of unity yet. There are no meetings to correlate....we have to work on that.
We were punted by our investigators this week! They always say, "next time na lang" or they hide from us. Haha Philippinos are too shy to tell someone no in person so they hide from us. Pero, we had 1 investigator show up at church! Sister Agdon! Masaya ako! She even said that she would come back next week! None of our other investigators have yet, pero, I have faith in them.
Mom, They have the biggest avocado's here! You would love them! They are masarap!
It was Marys bday yesterday. THe catholicals have a huge celebration for her. They carry huge gave beds with lights on them witha statue of her. During a lessons, my kasama asked the little boy, who would you like to pray? He said "mama mary" and pointed at me. Haha apparently I also look like Mary. Because I have a big nose. Haha. They have her picture everywhere here posted outside their houses.
Tagalog is still difficult, i am trying to use it as much as possible. I almost said that Jesus killed the people on accident, instead of the people killed Jesus. Good thing i have a good kasama. :)
I am constantly being humbled. I hope that I can become worthy of this great calling! I love being a missionary! I know that this is the true restored church on the earth that holds the keys of God. I am forever grateful to wear the name of Jesus Christ on my shoulder. He is on my shoulder and in y heart. He guides me and protects me. I love Him and hope to be like Him someday.
Love, Your defender of the faith,
Sister Reed

Tatay, Nanay, Pamilya, Kaibigan!
What a wonderful week in the Field! Thank you for your constant prayers, I sure do need it!
This week, I was given the compliment by one of my investigators that I was as white as a yam...haha, I have never heard that before...someone else told me, I like your pink fluffy skin...Our other investigator Sister Ruth called me, "my most beautiful lady". Haha Philipinos are funny. Also, the philippino little boys dont wear pants...It is apart of their culture because everyone does it, I am still shocked every time!
One of our companions went home. Shes may-sakit, so now its just the 2 of us, Sister Marino and I. Alot of the American sister missionaries have been getting sick, pero, I am great and I love it here!
I had some amazing experiences this week. Mainly 3 that stick out right now.
1. By tracking, I met Brother Romey. He is a truth seeker. Looking for the truth. We actually found him by going the wrong way. It was my fault bc i think i know everything...then i find out, i dont haha. He is about 40ish and we taught him the 1st lesson of the restoration. I wanted to make our lessons interesting so i teach the restoration through a parable of a tree that we made up. The spirit was so strong, to testify of all the truths stated. His mom was attending the lesson. She has been inactive for years and has been attending another church. She was in tears. I could feel her draw closer to the Lord. After the lesson I asked him to be baptized. He exclaimed, "I am converted! I am ready to be baptized!" Haha, I am so excited for him! I am excited to continue teaching him! If we didnt go the wrong way, we would have never found him!
2. We have been teaching a LA family. One of there sisters is Sister Minda. We invited her to come listen. She said, I will listen, but I will not join your church! We gave her an assignment, she likes to make deals with me. I was to explain the reading in tagalog, if she did it. OUr next appointment was at 7pm. They are poor and dont have any lights, i am so grateful they are because i love candle light. I taught her about the Book of Mormon. We all gather on the broken cement ground of her home, cross legged on the floor with our shoes place outside the door. I started with the prayer, praying for the spirit to touch her heart and fill the room with peace. As I taught, the lord put words and thoughts into my head. We went over the introduction, why this book was the keystone of our relilgion, and how by reading this book, you can gain a testimony that Christ is our Savior, that This is the true church on the earth, and that Joseph Smith is a totoong propeta. After I taught her, and kept my part of the deal, she exclaimed, "I feel the spirit!" She was given a witness that it was true. We asked her to be baptised! Its amazing, I feel like i was made for her, after years of missionaries, i coiuld help her feel the spirit.
3. Walking through a little alley, there was a little sitting there with her son. We walked past...then. I stopped. For some reason i couldn't leave without talking to her. Its like ther was a pull between us, the spirit told me not to leave her. We set a return appointment. Sister Luming has been a member since she was 18. she is 66 and has not been to church since she was married. She said she is going through trails and prayed to God to be given strength. She said, then you 2 showed up. We taught a powerful lesson and told her how important she was. She was so kind. Because i listened to the spirit, we found another one of His sheep that strayed from the path.
I am so grateful for the spirit. I know I would be nothing without it. I am continually learning everyday. I love the Philipians and I love serving them!!
Mahal Kita!
