There's a snake in my boot!
Dearest pamilya,
Typhoon season is here! Rain, rain, and more rain. And when it rains that means the cow frogs come out. They are so loud!! One morning I got up to go running with my kasama. I was putting on my running shoes and I tired to put my foot in one, something was in the way. So i look in and see a HUGE frog in my shoe!! NASTY! It was brown and slimy and bigger than a tennis ball! I screamed and threw my shoe outside! Hence, "there is a snake in my boot" Or there is a frog in my shoe! :)
Our AP's sent out a typhoon warning to all of us missionaries to have our 72 hour kits prepared. I know its so important to be prepared! Always, in case anything happens. Bc when we are prepared, we shall not fear. But, my area is fine, just lots of rain, and its hot today!
I loved conference this week! The Saturday sessions were all about member missionary work! Loved it! I love talks on missionary work, because I am a missionary! My favorite statement from conference:
The spirit of the Lord will tell you what He wants you to do with with your life.
Never look back, look at what you still need to do!
You become personally sanctified when you pay your tithing.
Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith.
We are all Hippocrates bc none of us live the commandments as perfectly as we know to do.
The scriptures hold the key to protection
If you have enough faith, you can be made whole.
Our ultimate priority and expectation from God is to keep His commandments and love Him.
You must become the ROCK the RIVER cannot wash away!
Repentance is a hope filled past with a glorious future.
The more the STORM, the more the STRENGTH.
The gospel is the penetrating light that shine through the clouds of our dark lives.
Satan is good at replacing good activities from the BEST activities.
Is the Father the focus point of everything that I do?
Investigators namin:
Pestano pamilya- The first thing He said when we sat down was, I did the reading! Haha, he read my mind! I asked him if he received an answer yet. First he said no. Then I asked him when he feels the love of God in his life. Then I asked him if he felt this while he was reading. He said yes. We read over moronis promise and Galations 5 about the spirit. We helped him to recognize his answer about the truth and he was happy to know that he already received and answer. He thought he would see a vision, little did he know that it was the love of God that would be his answer. He said he beilves its true as we asked him if the Church, Bom, and Joseph Smith is ture. He said, "Naniniwala ko po, naniniwala ko po, naniniwala ko po"! The spirit fill the room. I love teaching there family. Teaching the whole family together, the spirit is so strong.
Sister Yshery: 9 years old and keeping all her commitments! Teaching children the gospel is my favorite! We asked her to be baptized and when she said yes, she had a huge smile on her face! She is so excited!
Sister Rosel is so sweet. I love her! She has a testimony and wants to follow the Savior perfectly. They are so poor they dont have enough money for food or for fair. I am not sure how thwy will get to church, its too far to walk with a baby. They will need a miracle. It is hard for me that poverty holds them back from receiving blessing of the sacrament.
Brother Jerome- We had a break through! He has a very hard life and word of wisdom problems. He told me that ever since sister Marino and I started teaching him, he began to stop. WOw, we didnt even teach him the word of wisdom till now. He said that he was listening to other religions and feels the spirit with us. He prayed to see who he should listen to. He felt the best about listening to us. He wants to change and has a deep desire to change. His tears testify is outward conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sister Agdon- we are almost done teaching all the lessons to her! Yay, except she has only been to church once. I hope she keeps coming bc she is almost there!!!
We were tracking in Rhoda subdivision and the first house we knocked on she let us in to teach her. She said, I normally dont let any missionaries in. From any church. I am not sure why I let you missionaries in. I wanted to tell her, I know! Because its true! I am excited to go back and teach her a full lesson.
Mormon 5:11 When we repent we are clasped into the arms of Jesus. In Tagalog the deep word for arm means forepower. So we are incricled about by the power of Christ when we repent. Beautiful.
Mahal mahal po kayo! Ingat!
Sister Reed :)
